The Five Spheres of MAMBA-Ryu
The EARTH SPHERE is dedicated to the body, to the physical existence of the individual. It is the Sphere of BLACK MAMBA, the combative and martial branch of MAMBA-Ryu dedicated to personal protection. Enclosed in BLACK MAMBA is KAI-JUTSU, a physical weapon and combative method recently created by Master-Founder Overton.
The WATER SPHERE emphasizes the importance of the synergistic relationship between 'the individual' and 'his circumstances,' as well as the environmental, social, and ecological context that they encounter. This is the domain of GREEN MAMBA which comprises the program of "urban survival" that in its way overlaps with BLACK MAMBA.
The FIRE SPHERE represents the conscious/cognitive facet of the mind and its development, stressing management of the mental processes to confront the real world with clarity and understanding. This is the domain of MAMBA MINDFULNESS.
The WIND SPHERE comprises the non-conscious and emotive aspects of the mind. Its operation is the domain of IMAGINOCEPTIVE META-PROGRAMMING, also known as HYPNOTIC-SHAMANISM.
Finally, the VOID SPHERE is the Tao of Mamba, the philosophical-spiritual schema that includes and integrates the other Spheres, fusing their understanding into an integral and cohesive whole. This Sphere is expressed in the program of EXISTENTIAL STRATEGY.
It is for this reason that to me the real martial arts aim to teach more than just techniques of physical power; they must seek to set the practitioner on a path to the self-empowerment, discovery and improvement that leads beyond an accumulation of information or the memorization of movements, a path which leads to the immutable spirit that derives from mind and body coordinated in harmonious action. This is the Way of MAMBA.
